Powe, Greenwood

Authur and Reatha Powe of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Wanda Elois, to Shawn Wesley Greenwood, son of Mary Greenwood of Meridian and the late Gordon E. Greenwood.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at 5 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Miss Powe is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger Powe and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonzie Bourrage.
The bride-elect graduated from Meridian High School and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Alabama. She received a master's of school counseling from Mississippi State University and an education specialist school leadership from Mississippi State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in education leadership from Mississippi State University.
Miss Powe is employed as a teacher in Atlanta.
Mr. Greenwood is the grandson of the late Samuel J. Cole and Azzlee Mosley Cole Brown of Meridian and step-grandfather, Chester Brown of Meridian and the late Rutherford and Lela Greenwood of Bailey.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and attended Laney College in Oakland, Calif.
Mr. Greenwood has an extensive background in sales management in Atlanta.
A reception will be held at the Council of Organization building following the ceremony.
