KGB continues to rock Roxy in 2020
All shows will cost $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 and free for children younger than 6. Each show will begin at 7 p.m. and feature new guests each month.
“Folks can always be assured that we provide a family-oriented and wholesome show,” Gilbert said.
The KGB performed the January show with a guest appearance from the Russellville High School Acapella group, and Gilbert said he is already preparing for shows throughout the year.
Gilbert said he currently does not have the February guest slot filled, but he knows there will be a lot of love songs played in honor of Valentine’s Day. He said he has also considered making it and 50s- and 60s-themed show.
He said community members are in for a treat with March’s show, as the performance will feature special guest Marty Harris as the world’s No. 1 Jerry Clower impersonator.
Harris will dress like Clower and tell a lot of the same stories as famous comedian, Clower.
April does not have a guest scheduled, but May will feature Johnny Collier, and June will feature Tim Cannon.
Gilbert said although he typically does not plan shows more than six months out, the December act is already lined up, with piano player Robin Akers returning to the Roxy.
“A live music show with music and comedy is something I feel like everyone should experience at least once,” Gilbert said.
Although he said his shows typically consist of an older crowd, his hope is to have more young people join and experience live music entertainment.
“My favorite part is just the desire to help people feel better leaving there than they did coming in,” Gilbert said. “Music has the capability of moving people’s emotions one way or another, and I love that.”
