Property rezoning clears way for retail building

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville City Council approved the rezoning of a Lawrence Street property during its April 6 meeting.

The council voted to rezone property at 1393 Lawrence Street East from M-2 industrial to B-2 general business, allowing for retail use.

City clerk Belinda Miller said one of the property owners is Juan Garcia.

Building Inspector Bill Fuller said the change was requested to allow for construction of a building with multiple retail suites.

The site is located near a head start facility and surrounding residential subdivisions.
