Disruption of water service is expected Thursday
PHIL CAMPBELL — Water service for customers in areas along College Road is expected to be disrupted Thursday as crews install a new meter and vault for Franklin County Water.
The work is scheduled between approximately 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., although Water Superintendent Jordan Steele said the outage may not last that long.
Steele said the project is part of routine system maintenance and involves installing an updated meter.
“At some point, the water will be shut off,” Steele said. “It’s not going to be off all day, we’re hoping.”
Areas expected to be affected include Rhinehart Subdivision, South Pike Avenue and possibly Belva Street, as well as the community center and the college.
Residents in those areas are encouraged to plan for temporary service interruptions.
