July Fest features food, fun and fireworks
VINA — Community members gathered Saturday at the Vina Fire Department for the annual July Fest, enjoying food, vendors, a car show, musical performances, fireworks and activities throughout the day.
July Fest is organized by the town and the Vina Volunteer Fire Department. The drawdown benefits the Vina Rescue Squad, while the car show benefits the Vina Volunteer Fire Department.
“I just enjoy seeing everybody out here,” Fire Chief Justin Epperson said. “It’s something we give back to the community.”

“I love the cars. I’ve been coming since 2016,” Ellsworth said. “The people are friendly, and the people with cars will talk to you and tell you about them. It’s a friendly place.”

Junior Hutcheson of Belmont, Mississippi, said he has attended the festival’s car show for about four years.

“It’s just a good, clean place to go,” Hutcheson said. “The people are nice, and I look forward to coming every year.”
The annual drawdown offered a $17,000 grand prize. Each year, 325 tickets are sold at a cost of $100 each.
