Charles E. Hamilton Jr., 75, of Columbus, Ind., died on Friday, April 19, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Hamilton retired in 2003 from Standens LTD, Calgary, Alberta, Canada as Director of US Sales for Truck Trailer Manufacturing.

He owned and operated a Standard Oil Gas Station before beginning a career in sales and sales management.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Hilton Lodge, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish and Murat Shrine and a past member of SSA, TMA and Truck and Trailer Maintenance Council.

A memorial service was conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at First Baptist Church with the Dr. Daniel Cash officiating.

Cremation is planned and inurnment will be at a later date in Alabama.

Mr. Hamilton was born in Red Bay, Alabama, on June 9, 1937, to Charles E. and Lillie M. Huffman Hamilton Sr. and grew up in nearby Russellville.

He married Shirley A. Hancock Hamilton on November 2, 1956.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Hamilton; children, Barry Hamilton and wife, Cheryl, of Loveland, Ohio; Brad Hamilton and wife, Shelly, of Kokomo, Ind.; Greg Hamilton and wife, Allison, of Lake Orion, Mich.; and Vicki Harvey and husband, Richard, of Logansport, Ind.; sister, Delores Dill of Melbourne, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Calvin Maher.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or First Baptist Foundation.
