Alton E. Elrod, 66, of Hackleburg, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Russellville Hospital.

The visitation was held Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Hackleburg First Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery in Hackleburg. Officiating the service will be Bro. Fred Hartley. Bro. Bobby Joe Poss, and Bro. Larry Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Ottis Elrod, and his mother, Ollie Elrod Kelly; brother, Ricky Kelly; grandson, Eric Blake Harris; and step-brothers, Hugh Kelly and Ray Kelly.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Elrod; daughters, Kim Palmer and husband, David, Tammy Jones and husband, Darrell, and Cortney McKinney and husband, Brett; brothers, James Ottis Elrod, Jr., and Ronald Elrod; three step-sisters, Christine Reach, Jean Cody, and Virginia Wolfe; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was the pastor of Centerhill Baptist Church in Plantersville, Miss.
