Burglary arrest made

A Tuscumbia man was arrested on Thursday for his alleged role in a robbery that took place in Russellville on New Year’s Eve.
Steven Kowalewski, 25, 912 Frankfort Rd., Tuscumbia, was charged with second-degree robbery, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
According to Hargett, Kowalewski and another man are accused of robbing a Hispanic male on New Year’s Eve in the Mill Village area behind Russellville Hospital.
Hargett said reports stated the two men approached the victim and demanded money.
After taking the man’s cash and cell phone, the two men fled the scene on foot, Hargett said.
Reports state a black handgun was used to threaten the victim during the event.
After an extensive investigation, Kowalewski and Jeffrey Hamm, 29, with a last known address of 2172 Ligon Springs Rd. in Tuscumbia, were developed as suspects.
Police are still searching for Hamm, who is described as a white male with dark hair weighing 150 pounds and standing 5’ 6” tall.
Anyone with information on Hamm’s whereabouts is asked to call the Russellville Police Department at 256-332-2230.
