Frances Gandy

Frances Gandy, 86, of Spruce Pine, Ala., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.  
The visitation will be from 5- 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Akins Funeral Home. The 2 p.m. funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Britnell and Bro. Jack Henson officiating. Interment will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Jason Motes, Heath Gandy, Jeremy Motes, Jonathan Motes, Charlie Peppers, Freddy Saint, Andy Pylant and Brett Borden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Paul Gandy; son, Jimmy Ray Gandy and wife Barbara; parents, Napolean and Sudie Fretwell; siblings, William Fretwell and wife Lucy, Lelia Quinn, Aliene Bianco and husband Al.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Burns Gandy and wife JoAnn, Judy Paulette Gandy Motes and husband Hubert, Mary Jean Gandy Borden and husband Donald; siblings, J E Fretwell and wife Vivian, Juanita Henson; grandchildren, Jason (Tracie) Motes, Jeremy (Cecilia) Motes, Jonathan (Sarah) Motes, Jeana (Andy) Gandy Pylant, Jessica (Charlie) Gandy Peppers, Alicia Borden Swinney, Allison (Freddy) Borden Saint, Brett Borden, Heath (Kim) Gandy; 14 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Quinn;  several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Gravel Hill Church of Christ.
Special thanks to friends and family, staff at ECM Hospital, Dr. Lyman Mitchell and Dr. Oliver Matthews.
Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
