James H. Bennett, 78, of Haleyville, Ala. passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Haleyville Health Care and Rehab. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Sardis No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Lawson Clark, Ronnie Melvin and Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial was in Sardis No. 1 Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Dennis Bennett and wife, Karen, and Melissa Bennett John and husband, Tommy; brother, Nathaniel Bennett and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Wendy Dawn Bennett, Whitney Sharree Bennett, Kandice John and Jim Milsap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Virgil and Ethel Bennett; wife, Verdine “Dude” Bennett; daughter, Denise Bennett Milsap; brothers, Willard Bennett and Arnold Bennett; sister, Elizabeth Bennett.
