Nellie Ruth Smith, 80, of Red Bay died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at Generations in Red Bay, Ala. She was born November 11, 1930 in Maud, Ala. to Claude and Mary Alice Hutcheson Burns. He was an employee of Blue Bell and a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 22, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Shana Smith Jefferson, of Red Bay, Ala.; one son, Randal “Bud” Smith, of Red Bay, Ala.; three granddaughters, Courtney Smith Keeton and husband, Steven, and Olivia Brooke Smith, both of Belmont, Miss. and Peyton Reece Jefferson, of Red Bay, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband E.F. “Bud” Smith; her parents; and two sisters, Della Mae Herring and Louis Daniel.
Pallbearers were Kevin Morrow, James Evetts, Frankie Smith, Larry Smith and Joel Daniel.
