Jerry H. Daily, 66, of Tuscumbia, Ala. passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

Mr. Daily was a native of Franklin County and member of Leighton Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Russellville High School, class of 1962; Walker Junior College, class of 1964; and Florence State College, class of 1966.

He was basketball coach at Colbert County High School from 1968 until 1972, the freshman basketball coach at the University of Alabama in 1973, and basketball coach at Northwest Junior College in Phil Campbell for several years.

After retiring from coaching, he owned and operated Tennessee Valley Stockyard in Florence from 1988 until 1995.  He then became a salesman for Vulcan Materials and established his own company, Daily Ag Products.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Tom Whatley, Leon Douglas, and Bill Pritchard officiating.  Burial was at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Horton, Ala. with Manley Norris officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Daily, of Tuscumbia; sons, David Daily and wife, Sarah, of Hayden, Ala. and Jason Daily, of Birmingham; brother, Larry Daily and wife, Glenda, of Russellville; two nieces; one nephew.

Pallbearers and honorary bearers were Randy Jones, Jimmy Andrews, Bobby Montgomery, Bobby Bradford, David Gargis, Roland Gargis, Robert Bates, Dan Grimes, Bill Oliver, Kelly Harrington, Eli Christopher, David Langner, Jerry McCafferty, Donnie Clemmons, Tommy Milstead and Jimmy Sparks.

He was preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Hilda Daily.
