Addison runs over Tharptown

THARPTOWN — Tharptown scored a late touchdown to avoid a shut out, but the damage had already been done by Addison, which showed why it is ranked as one of the best teams in the state with a 49-6 victory.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and pushed its lead to 35-0 at halftime.

Addison added two more touchdowns in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs used a potent rushing attack to gain more than 400 yards on the ground against Tharptown.

The Wildcats got on the scoreboard with 16 seconds remaining in the game when Brandon Cothrum found Jacob Parker for a 16-yard touchdown pass. The point after attempt failed.

Cothrum finished the night completing 13-of-32 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown. The Bulldogs intercepted four of his passes.

The Wildcats travel to Phillips next week.
