Lions Club donation is gift to many in Franklin County
Welcome signs of towns across the state usually have a number of smaller signs designating the civic organizations that are active in the community.
Many drivers overlook these and don’t think about what those clubs provide, but citizens of Franklin County benefited from one of those groups.
The local chapter of the Lions Club found out the county school system did not have money to purchase supplies for the school nurses and decided to donate the money.
This gift touches nearly everybody in the county. You may not have a child in school, but you might have a grandchild, niece or nephew and the Lions Club is helping keep them healthy.
The next time you drive into a town and notice all of the signs for civic organizations remember they are more than just pieces of wood or metal. They are a sign that local citizens are trying to make their corner of the world the best place it can be.
