Fabianke named to state board

A letter sent from the office of Governor Bob Riley confirmed the nomination of Red Bay resident Rosalyn Fabianke to become the newest member of the state Physical Fitness Commission.

Fabianke will be replacing Senator Hinton Mitchem as representative of the Fourth Congressional District in north Alabama.

“It is truly an honor to be selected for the position and I am humbled and excited to get involved,” she said. “I know I have a lot to learn, but I have been involved with physical fitness education for a number of years and I consider it to be one of my passions.”

In the letter dated July 12, Fabianke is asked to begin her term immediately and describes her position as making important decisions that directly affect the citizens of Alabama.

“It has been my distinct pleasure and passion to support the mission of improving and promoting healthy lifestyles as my professional has been all-inclusive with numerous years of experience,” she said.

“My path has been one of opportunity to experience the vitality of physical fitness as it pervades the everyday lives of people from diverse backgrounds. I appreciate all the support from my peers and a special thanks to Rep. Johnny Mack Morrow for all his support.”

Fabianke term as member of the state Physical Fitness Commission continues to July 2014.

Fabianke’s possesses a Master of Arts Education degree from the University of North Alabama, Elementary Physical Education Specialist Qualification from the University of Alabama-Huntsville and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Tex.

Fabianke said her interest in physical fitness and promoting healthy habits in children and senior adults will continue throughout her term as part of the commission.
