Father, son arrested on drug charges

Two Russellville men were taken into custody Friday after investigators found drugs and stolen property at their residence, authorities said.

Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Richard Allen Cole Sr., 52, and Richard Allen Cole Jr., 26, both of 45 Valley Street Russellville, are both charged with first-degree receiving of stolen property, first-degree marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cole Jr. is also charged with first-degree theft of property.

Investigators said they received a tip Cole Jr. had taken some items from a Franklin County home and stored them at his residence.

Authorities said after serving a warrant on the residence, investigators found the property along with a couple of marijuana plants.

Both Cole Sr. and Cole Jr. were transported to the Franklin County Jail where they posted bonds totaling $12,500 for both.
