James William Cook

James William Cook, age 76, of Dothan, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2004.
Mr. Cook was a native of Dothan and a former resident of Russellville. He was a member of North Russellville Baptist Church. Mr. Cook was a Vietnam War veteran. He received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces. He was highly honored and highly decorated Sargent First Class. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a daughter, Selena Joy Cook-Williams; a brother, Alvie Cook; and a sister, Florence Hester.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2004, in Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Thomas Thornton officiating.
Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virginia Cook of Dothan; a sister, Dot Sparks and husband Larry, of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
