Bulldogs even score with Phil Campbell

Avis Smith had 14 points and Josh Smith added 10 on Friday as Belgreen avenged an earlier loss to Phil Campbell with a 46-43 victory over the Bobcats.
Belgreen (3-2, 2-1 in Class 2A, Area 16) led the entire game until Phil Campbell (3-2, 2-1) tied the score with 1:24 remaining.
The Bulldogs were able to regain the lead and hold on for the win.
Cody Rikard added nine points for Belgreen, and Nathan Hamilton had six. Kelsey Motes had three points, and Josh Dobbs and Andrew Cansler each added two.
Griffin Harris had a game-high 17 points for the Bobcats, who won 69-59 at Belgreen on November 19. Eric Glasgow added 13 points for the Bobcats, and Matthew Thomas had seven.
Girls
Belgreen 43 Phil Campbell 37
Casey Guinn had 13 points and Amanda Hester added 12 as the Lady Bulldogs handed Phil Campbell its first area loss of the season.
Alana Smith led Phil Campbell (3-4, 2-1) with 10 points.
Belgreen (4-1, 2-1) led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter, but Phil Campbell rallied to within three points before the Lady Bulldogs put the game away.
Erin Gilbert added nine points and nine rebounds for the Lady Bobcats. Tanna Benford had eight points and seven assists, and Jodi Taff also had eight points.
Phil Campbell had defeated Belgreen 38-30 on November 19.

Chase Hutcheson led the Bobcats with 14 points in Friday's win.
Skylar King led Belgreen with nine points.
