Miller is election manager

RUSSELLVILLE — The city council has voted to appoint City Clerk and Treasurer Belinda Miller as municipal election manager.

Under Alabama law, a sitting mayor who is a candidate in the election is disqualified from performing certain electionrelated duties.

Mayor David Grissom is seeking re-election in the Aug. 26 municipal election. A runoff election, if necessary, will be held Sept. 23.
