Has it been that long?

As we enter into the middle of football season, schools across the county are gearing up for the annual homecoming events.
As high school students, homecoming is a time for getting out of class early and building floats. There is a dance after the ballgame. It is a time for fun.
As you get older and more and more years pass since you've been in high school it just becomes another home football game.
But this year will be different for me.
Next Friday my graduating class will celebrate our 10 year reunion.
It is hard to believe that it has already been 10 years since we threw our caps in the air and walked out of Russellville Stadium as graduates.
It is amazing how fast time passes by. College was the same way.
So much happens in your lives after high school that sometimes you don't even realize how fast it is passing.
It seems like yesterday that we were all gathering for a big party with all of our parents at a classmate's home. It was the first and only time that I remember our entire class coming together for something like that.
Sometimes in high school people break of into cliques and you choose to spend most of your time in those certain little groups.
On that evening, there were no cliques. There were no groups.
It was 140 people gathering for supper and to spend time together before we all headed our own separate ways.
This weekend when we all get together, everything will be different.
Many of us are married with children. Some have moved to distant parts of the country and others are still searching for what they want to do for the rest of their lives.
Still, it will be nice to see people that I haven't seen in over 10 years in most cases. Sadly, some of those people were some of my closest friends in school.
As time passed and we all got farther away, staying in touch became less of a priority.
Hopefully this will give us all one more time to be together.
