Seal seeking District 2 city council seat

Charles Patrick “Pat” Seal has announced his candidacy for the Russellville City Council District 2 seat.
Seal was born and raised in Russellville and is a 1976 graduate of Russellville High School.
He joined the National Guard in 1977 and served six years with the 115th Signal Battalion that was stationed here in Russellville.
He worked for 1st National Bank in Russellville for six years as a computer programmer after obtaining an Associate’s Degree in data processing from Northwest-Shoals Community College.
After that, he went on to become the computer programmer for Russellville Utilities where he has worked for the past 27 years. In 2005, he became the office manager of Russellville Utilities and still currently serves in that capacity.
He is a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville where he serves in the choir and the praise team.
He is married to the former Teresa Jackson. He has two children: a daughter, Kellie, and her husband, David Singleton; and a son, John.
“You may look at this list of facts about my life and notice one word that keeps being repeated, and that’s the word ‘Russellville,’” Seal said. “I was born and raised in this town, my parents, C.B. “Pie” Seal and Olene May Seal; my grandparents, sisters and most of my cousins, aunts and uncles were born and raised in this town.
“My father ran a two-bay service station in this town for many years and I worked there, giving me an opportunity to get the know the people of this town who worked here and also called this place home.
“I met my wife in this town and raised my two children in this town, where they were educated in the same school that I was educated in.
“I looked at my family and my life in particular and realized that this town has been very good to us and I want to do my part to give back to a town that has given me so much.
“The city of Russellville has had its ups and downs throughout the years, but I really believe that some of the best years are ahead. I could say that I am going to seek jobs for our community, make things better and a dozen other promises, but in reality, my only promise is to do my best for the citizens of District 2 and for the city of Russellville as a whole.”
