Vina falls 67-6 at Addison
ADDISON — It was another tough night for the Vina football team Friday night as the Red Devils fell to Addison 67-6.
Vina avoided the shutout in the fourth quarter when Cody Renfrow connected with Clay Pierce for a 16-yard touchdown strike. It was the only pass the Red Devils attempted all night. The point after attempt failed, leaving the Red Devils (0-4, 0-3) trailing 61-6.
Addison improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in Class 1A, Region 8.
Ethan Pharr led Vina with 34 rushing yards while Renfrow added 29 yards on the ground and Andrew Hester rushed for 18 yards.
Leading tacklers for Vina include Nick Schmittou with five tackles and Pierce, Hester and Justin Garritt with two tackles each.
The Red Devils will be on the road again next week to take on Jacksonville Christian Academy.
JCA picked up its first win of the season Friday night, knocking off Jefferson Christian 35-12.
