Marion Holly Jackson, 81, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born November 25, 1929 in Franklin County to William Harvey and Yula Willis Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  Officiating at the service will be Bro. Wade Wallace and Bro. Joe Lennox.  The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Stout Jackson; daughter, Debra Ann Fretwell and husband, Byron; daughter-in-law, Gewn Jackson; four grandchildren, Daniel Jackson and wife, Stacie, Drew Jackson, Adam Montgomery, Mindy Montgomery Hutton and husband, Miles; one great-grandson, Daxton Hutton; brother, Dr. Morrison Jackson and wife, Fran, sister-in-law, Mary Fay Stout; nephew, Dr. Greg Jackson and wife, Debbie; one niece, Melissa Jackson; and a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey and Yula Willis Jackson; mother and father-in-laws, Bertha Bowen and Lonnie Stout; two sons, Gary Dwain Jackson, D.R. (Danny Ray) Jackson; brother-in-law, Edward Stout.

The honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men Sunday School class from Calvary Baptist Church.

Marion became an ordained deacon in 1950.  He served as song leader and Sunday school teacher throughout his entire Christian life, which was about 68 years.  He worked in Detroit, Michigan as a machinist and also at the Chrysler Manufacturing Plant.  He attended Cas Tech School in Michigan and came home to start his own hometown business in Russellville, Jackson TV and Warehouse Furniture.  His main hobby was singing and writing songs.  He and Betty had a program on TV called “Wells of Living Water” for about five years.  Singing was a great inspiration for him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church, of whom he loved dearly.
