Dudley Hester, 50, of Muscle Shoals, Ala. passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Blankenship officiating.  Interment was at Shoals Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Roger Bradford, Gordon Fennel, Ricky Hall, Paul Lackey, Terry Pearson, Chad Gibson, Kelly Henderson and Jay Powers. Honorary pallbearers were Preston Hill, Gary Seal, Billy Pittman, Bill Adair, Anthony Eggleston, and fellow city employees and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eural D. Hester; grandparents, Foy and Gladys Hester, Lucille and Bob Eatmon; Uncle Tommy Miles.

He is survived by his mother, Sarah Miles Hester; brother, Joel Hester and Rhonda; niece, Baylee Hester; nephew, Bradley Austin.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.  He was a 1979 graduate of M.S. High School where he lettered in football 3 years; attended UNA 3+ years. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, and the Alabama Crimson Tide Football.  ROLLTIDE!

He was a member of the TN Valley Football Official Association or “TVFOA” for 18 years.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Red Cross of NW Alabama, 318 South Court Street, Florence, AL 35630, 256-764-2911 (designate Franklin & Marion County tornado fund).

Baylee will greatly miss her uncle Dud.
