Phillip Boyd, 61, of Red Bay, Ala. passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was born December 3, 1949 in Alabama to T.E. and Dona Petree Boyd.  He was plant manager at Sunshine Homes for 40 years and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Greg Miller and Bro. Mike Sparks officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery in Vina, Ala.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Boyd, of Red Bay; one daughter, Melissa Bolton and husband, Kevin, of Red Bay; two step-children, Kim Brooks and husband, Patrick, of Red Bay and Mark Carnes and wife, Brooke, of Golden, Miss.; one sister, Chestine Lindsey, of Amory, Miss.; one brother, Ottis Boyd, of Red Bay; four grandchildren, Kaitlin Bolton, Lexie Carnes, Cody Carnes and  Logan Brooks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Yarbrough, Harold Coats, Dwight Johnson, Kevin Pounds, Mike Stone and Kenny Ewing.
