William Robert Treadway, 79, of Decatur, Ala. passed away Friday, October 8, 2010. He was born January 7, 1931 in Cherokee County to Ernest Treadway and Gussie Mae Burrows Treadway. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Merchant Marines/Coast Guard.

He was a 1949 graduate of Russellville High School and

was an avid sailor.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Graham and Bro. Greg Legg officiating with burial in the Antioch Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Treadway, Jr. and Paul Treadway; two sisters, Juanita Thomasson and Archie Ogletree; and  great-grandchild, Jesse Robert Maxwell.

He is survived by daughter, Lisa Maxwell and husband, John Eva; sister, Maydrith Treadway, of Russellville; three grandchildren, Jonathan Maxwell and wife, Anna, Benjamin Maxwell and Courtney Maxwell; great-grandchild, Lorelai Ann Maxwell.

Pallbearers were Steve Flory, Jimmy Dobbs, Jack Hinkle, Ricky Childers, Jonathan Maxwell and Benjamin Maxwell.
