Hubert E. Scott, 86, of Golden, Miss., died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born Aug. 8, 1923 in Alabama to Harvey and Vinne Haithcock Scot. He was a farmer for more than 50 years and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Guth officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, and from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Scott of Red Bay; children, Sunny Holland of Golden, and Ray Scott of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nova Scott and son, Jerry Scott.
