Red Bay scores win over Belgreen

The Red Bay Tigers jumped on the Belgreen Bulldogs early and held on for an easy 10-1 over their county rivals last week.
The middle of the Tiger lineup was on fire, pounding out ten hits. Annaliese Rogers, Lila Blackburn and Emma McCollister had two hits each. Jordyn McKinney, Morgan Pierce, Layla Bilstein and Breanna Jacobs had one hit each. McKinney, Rogers, Blackburn and Pierce scored two runs each. McCollister and Jacobs scored one run each. Blackburn and McCollister had three RBIs each, while Bilstein knocked one run in.
The Bulldogs struggled from the plate, managing only three hits in the game.
Red Bay got their first inning rally going with a bases-loaded, two-out single by McCollister scoring Rogers and Blackburn. Bilstein followed with a double, scoring Pierce and McCollister to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.
Red Bay put runners on first and second base thanks to two Belgreen errors. A third error in left field allowed runners Jacobs and McKinney to score to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead. Back-to-back doubles by Pierce and McCollister gave Red Bay a 9-0 lead.
Belgreen got on the board in the top of the third inning when Katie Dempsey hit a solo inside-the-park home run.
Red Bay got the run back in the bottom of the third inning when McKinney scored on a triple by Blackburn.
