Four arrested for producing meth

Four people from the Mountain Star community are facing drug charges for cooking meth at their residence Wednesday, officials said.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Kimberly Knight, 32, Sharon Burnell Hines, 39, Gary Wayne Caldwell, 46, and James Eric Hines, 30, all of 3906 Highway 77 in Russellville, were charged with first degree manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a class A felony which could result in a sentence ranging from 10 years to life.
Eric Hines also is being held on community corrections violations. A sawed-off shotgun was also retrieved from the residence. Investigators said Caldwell ran from the scene when law enforcement officials arrived at the residence on Tuesday. Caldwell, in addition to the drug charges, faces an alternate resisting arrest charge. Officials said a neighborhood complaint led officers to the trailer. Once law enforcement arrived, they spotted Caldwell outside beside a burn pile cooking methamphetamine, officials said.
According to authorities, Caldwell glanced and saw officials approach the house and then he took off. Authorities caught up with Caldwell and arrested him. Caldwell had a warrant issued for his arrest in Colbert County on felony drug charges.
Officials said the case is still under investigation.
