Tharptown School to give away vacation

THARPTOWN - With proration straining every school across the state, Tharptown Elementary has found a unique way to raise money for basic needs for their school while giving the public a chance at a beach vacation.
Principal Barry Laster said the school is holding a vacation fundraiser to raise money for the school. The school is selling chances for a four-night vacation in Orange Beach, which includes a four-night stay in a two-bedroom condo at Phoenix Condominiums and two days of deep sea or offshore fishing. The package’s estimated value is approximately $4,000.
Laster said the only stipulation is the trip must be April 11 through April 15.
Chances are on sale now at Tharptown Elementary School for $20 each. The drawing will be held on Jan. 29 during the basketball game.
Laster said the proceeds from the sale will go into the school’s general fund to provide basic needs for the school such as paying for the copy machines, paper, phone bill and other basic needs.
