The Russellville Fire Department served up a holiday feast Thursday night at the department’s annual Christmas party.
Mayor Troy Oliver and city council members William Nale, Gary Cummings and Jeff Masterson kicked of the event by sharing some enlightening stories in support of the entire fire department. Russellville Fire Chief Joe Mansell handed out gifts and awards in appreciation to all the guys who fought, trained and worked hard this year.
The top three awards were given out to the best of the best. Casey Pate took home Volunteer Firefighter of the year, while B Shift snagged the best shift of the year.
The biggest award of the night went to Jeremy Glenn who received the hardware for Firefighter of the Year. Mansell said Glenn was chosen by his peers to be the best in the department.
Glenn said the gratitude this department has shown him goes above and beyond his expectations.
