Graveside services for Irma D. Paine will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Paine, 97, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Fair Haven Retirement Center. Born in New York City, she lived many of her 97 years in Meridian, where she was an active and vital resident. She was the spouse and helpmate of former Mayor Laurence B. Paine.
Survivors include a daughter, Polly Kratt of Birmingham; a nephew, Winston Cameron and family.
The family requests memorials be made to Unity Hospice Services, 2145 Highland Ave., Suite 110, Birmingham, AL 35205.
Visitation will be at 1-1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
ESIN SURMELI
JACKSON Esin Surmeli, 39, a senior software developer, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Ege University Hospital in Izmir, Turkey.
A memorial service and reception to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Jackson.
Mr. Surmeli was born on Jan. 5, 1962, in Samandag, Turkey, and moved to the United States when he was 22 years old. He was a longtime resident of Long Island, N.Y., and had lived in Mississippi for five years.
He graduated with honors from Istanbul Technical University in 1982 with a degree in electrical engineering and received his master's degree with honors in computer science from the New York Institute of Technology in 1986. He was employed by FNC, Inc., in Oxford as a senior software developer and he loved every minute of his work. He was a loving husband, son, brother and a good friend to all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Surmeli; his mother, Kerime Surmeli of Turkey; four brothers, Rasim and Coskun Surmeli, both of Berlin, Germany, Ilhan Surmeli of Irvine, Calif., and Metin Surmeli of Turkey; three sisters, Tulin, Birsen and Suzane, all of Turkey; his mother- and father-in-law, Danny and Pat Holloway of Meridian; and many nieces and nephews.
His father, Suleyman Surmeli, preceded him in death.
AUDREY PRICE
Services for Audrey "New" Price will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Bennie Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Ms. Price, 56, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Kaiser Hospital in Los Angeles.
Survivors include seven sisters, Mary "Sis" Adams, of Meridian, Lillian Flynn, of P.K. Forest So., Ill., Thelma Randaldson and Etta Rhea Lindsey, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Emma Jean Brown, of Los Angeles, Betty Joe Holman, of Oberlin, Ohio, and Hazel Louise Smith, of Chicago; one extended family sister, Levoyn (Mustang) Smith, of Chicago; and three brothers, Theodore Price, of Meridian, Charles "Bo" and Ozzie Price, both of Los Angeles.

Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Evelyn S. Seals, 72, of Meridian, who died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
