Students receive warm welcome

Aug. 7 marked the first day back to school for the Russellville City School system, but students didn’t embark on the new school year alone. Members of the Russellville Fire Department, including Sparky, Russellville water and electric boards and the mayor and city councilmembers showed up bright and early at 7 a.m. to welcome students back to school with signs, big waves and smiles. Sparky and other members of RFD also took a trip through West Elementary School to visit with the students.
