BTCPA stages November production

The Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts in Red Bay will present its first production of the 2017-2018 season, “In-Laws, Outlaws and other People (That Should Be Shot)” Nov. 9-12.

The show, written by Steve Franco, will be staged November 9-11 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Community Spirit Bank’s Weatherford Centre in Red Bay. Tickets went on sale Oct. 30, $8 each.

Mar Richardson will direct the family-friendly performance, in which the Douglas family is busily preparing to be invaded by their quirky relatives for their annual Christmas Eve dinner. After robbing a neighborhood liquor store, high-strung and irritable Tony and his dimwitted side-kick Vinny, find themselves in need of a place to briefly hide out. Using a ruse to gain entrance into the Douglas home, they suddenly find themselves in charge of an ever-growing list of family members that they are forced to hold hostage.

From smart-aleck teenagers, to nosy neighbors and bickering adults, the laughs (like the flow of people) are nonstop, and the audience soon wonders who is holding who hostage?

Cast members are Scotty Kennedy, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Joy Corsbie, Brittany Russell, Jerry Self, Abbey Jones, Carol Murphree, Don Holcomb, Joey Allen, Randy Mink, Chase Allen, Avery Klose, Jackie Nichols, Tina Smith and Stacy Stepp.

Tickets can be purchased at the Weatherford Centre between the hours of 2-4 p.m. weekdays or reserved by calling 256-356-9829. Call Beth Hammock at 256-356-9286 for group sales.
