Authorities search for man

Aron Butler

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Russellville man wanted in connection with the severe beating of his girlfriend on two separate occasions.
Aron Butler, 33, 115 Truman Jackson Road, Russellville, is wanted on two counts of second-degree assault, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.
According to Oliver, the charges are the result of two separate incidents – one that took place on May 28 and another that took place on July 5.
Oliver said in the May 28 incident, Butler is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, who suffered a broken leg during that attack.
During the July 5 incident, Oliver said Butler is accused of attacking his girlfriend again, resulting in severe internal injuries to her neck and lungs.
Oliver said she had to be hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Huntsville Hospital for three days because of those injuries.
“We have been searching for Butler for the past two weeks and we are asking anyone in the community who knows where he might be to contact us,” Oliver said.
“These were terrible incidents where the victims sustained severe injuries.
“Because of the nature of the attacks, we have to consider Butler to be dangerous.”
Anyone with any information about Butler’s whereabouts is urged to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 256-332-8820.
