50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ray Vick Sr. were married June 18, 1954, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Tucker. They have one daughter, Brenda Carmichael and her husband, Brad; two grandchildren, Ashley Carmichael and Blake Carmichael; and sons, Ray Vick and Kenny Vick. They attend Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Vick is the former Ila Mae Tucker.
70th anniversary
Mabel and S. Carl Merritt were married June 24, 1934, at First Christian Church by the late Rev. Dr. David H. Griffin. The Merritts are lifetime members and Deacons of First Christian. Meridian has always been their home, except for 3 1⁄2 years while Carl was in the U.S. Army. During their marriage, they have only been separated for three weeks. Carl is a retired M&B Railroad conductor. Church members will host a reception in the fellowship hall to honor the couple on Sunday, June 27, from noon until 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts, please.
60th anniversary
A reception to honor Norman and Loraine Davis' 60th wedding anniversary will be Sunday, June 27, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, 240 Lynville Road, Preston. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married June 26, 1944. They have three children, Iva Lou Cumberland and her husband, Joel, who will host the reception, David M. Davis of Herndon, Va., and Nathan Davis of Baton Rouge, La.; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts, please.
