Retired Baptist Home Mission Board employee
PHILADELPHIA Services for James C. "Jimmy" Bowen Sr. will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Hubert Yates and John Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Bond Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Bowen, 89, of Philadelphia, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his daughter, Melba Robertson and her husband, Truett, of Philadelphia; sons, James C. "Buddy" Bowen Jr. of Jonesboro, Ga., Robert E. Bowen and his wife, Betty, of Philadelphia and Michael Steven Bowen of Flowery Branch, Ga.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Waldean Bowen.
Visitation will be today 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Dewayne Bates will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Beatline Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Berthelette officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bates, 54, of Pulaski, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his son, William Bates of Pulaski; daughters, Marion Williams, Jennifer Nichols and Jessica McDonough, all of West Monroe, La.; seven grandchildren; sisters, Debra Andries and Myrna Parkman, both of Pulaski; and a brother, Michael Bates of Jackson.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

QUITMAN Services for Margaret S. Dearman will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Moss officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dearman, 86, of Quitman, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Webb of Meridian; brothers, Howard Slayton of Enterprise and Preston Slayton of Georgia; sisters, Sybil Robinson and Sue Yarbrough, both of Meridian; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Memorial services for Delmer W. Dallas will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Deermeadows Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Riley officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Hardage-Giddons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dallas, 73, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Darden Dallas; daughters, Deborah Dallas McGehee and her husband, Sutton, Rhonda Dallas Donovan and her husband, Tom, and Kimberly Dallas Alexander and her husband, John; sisters, Maureen Sims, Jean Rittenburg, Pauline Chadwell, Winifred Davis and Maggie Joe Hicks; brothers, Paul Dallas and Edwin Dallas; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Delmer W. and Peggy A. Dallas Endowment Fund, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, c/o Michael Frick, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030 or to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for William Joe Garrett will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Lockhart Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Giles officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Garrett, 68, of Meridian, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Garrett of Meridian; a daughter, Vicky Moulds and her husband, Charles, of Bailey; sons, George Garrett and his wife, Frankie, and Joey Garrett, all of Meridian, and Stevie Garrett of Florence, S.C.; sisters, Inez Gray Thompson and Pat Ann Newell, both of Meridian, and Jane Polasky of St. Louis; and brothers, Wallace James Garrett and Charles Garrett, both of Meridian.
Visitation will be Thursday 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
