DEKALB Graveside services for Mildred McGowen will be held today at 11 a.m. at Enondale Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Stokes officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McGowen, 70, of DeKalb, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in her home. She was a retired factory worker with Southern Circuits.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy McGowen of Baton Rouge, La., Billy McGowen and Bryant McGowen, both of DeKalb; three grandsons, Jimmy Wayne McGowen, Joseph McGowen and Jonathan McGowen, all of DeKalb; and a sister, Irene Deason of Porterville.
Pallbearers will be Robert McLaurin, John Drake, David Deason, Jimmy Wayne McGowen, Joseph McGowen and Jonathan McGowen.
Graveside services for Jewel R. Talbert will be held today at 11 a.m. at Stinson Cemetery on Highway 45 South with O.C. Barham officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Talbert, 78, of Meridian, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Herman L. Talbert; a son, Tommy Ray Payne; a daughter, Janice Robinson; grandchildren, Wayne Robinson and his wife, Tori, and Heather Robinson, all of Meridian; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Robinson, Zaily Robinson, and Jewel Robinson; a brother-in-law, Danny Talbert; sisters-in-law, Lois Dixon and Erma Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Eugene Richie and Onie Rea Richie and a brother, Leroy Richie.
Pallbearers will be James Minchew, Matthew Raines, Danny Talbert, Jason Fontain, Dewayne Robinson and Lance Robinson.

QUITMAN Graveside services for Eloise W. Keene will be held today at 2 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Duvall officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Keene, 73, of Meridian, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice in Meridian. She was a retired restaurant hostess.
Survivors include her daughter, Tanya Ramey and her husband, Matt, of Decatur; grandchildren, Justin Jay Hardeman of Quitman and Blade Edward Felton Ramey of Decatur; special friends, J.C. and Gay Hardeman Jr., Gertie Keene and Cindy Hatcher.
Owner of Tucker's Beauty Shop
ARCOLA, Texas Services for Betty Lou Bollar Tucker will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Meridian. Burial will be in McElroy Cemetery in Cuba, Ala. All People Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Tucker, 76, of Arcola, formerly of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her children, Belinda Nixon and her husband, Donald, Wilson Tucker and his wife, Shirley and Beverly Jackson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Laura Johnson and a god-daughter and several other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Services for Bessie Mae Townsend will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Freedom Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Tucker officiating. Burial will be in St. John Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Townsend, 75, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Graham of Porterville, Peggy Sparks of Columbus, Ga., Angela Townsend of Meridian, Terry Burton of Columbus, Ga.; sons, Joe Townsend of Madison, Wis., Marvin Townsend of Detroit, David McClendon, Richard McClendon and Ramond McClendon, all of Meridian; sisters, Mamie Crawford of Tulsa, Okla. and Grace Bell Adams of Louisville; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday 3 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Hubert M. Gibson, 85, of Meridian, who died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
