    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 8, 2001

    Graveside services for Rebecca Sandusky will be held today at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Nick Nicholson officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Sandusky, 87, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a member of Central Methodist Church. She leased and operated Lakeview Golf Course for many years.
    Survivors include a son, James E. Sandusky and his wife, Patsy, of Meridian; a granddaughter, Kristin Sandusky of Washington, D.C.; a niece, Kathryn Perry of Meridian; and a nephew, Tommy Sandusky of Mobile, Ala.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, J.K. Sandusky and a brother, Ned McMillan.
    The family requests memorials be made to Central Methodist Church or the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Dudley, Bill Johnson, Alex Weddington, Fred Wile, A.L. Fielder Jr., Robert Bailey, Sambo Mockbee and Hunter George Weddington.
    Visitation will be today from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
    CALLIE HAGWOOD BUTLER

    Services for Callie Hagwood Butler will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Buddy Braddock, Ervin Mooney and Parker Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Butler, 96, of Meridian, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Carol Neal and her husband, H.C., daughters-in-law, Virginia Butler and Sally Boswell, a brother, the Rev. Jamie Hagwood, all of Meridian; eight grandchildren, Martha Williams, Mary Sumrall, Danny Butler, Patsy Thrash, David Neal, Jim Butler, Suzanne Smith and Kelly Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. "Junior" Butler; three sons, Grady Butler, Elton Butler and Robert Butler and his wife, Ann; a grandson, Terry Butler; three brothers and seven sisters.
    Pallbearers will be Danny Butler, David Neal, Jim Butler, Christopher Neal, Bill Williams, Joey Thrash and Jeff Johnson.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service.

    QUITMAN Services for Lorine H. Williams will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Manassa Cemetery.
    Mrs. Williams, 85, of Tampa, Fla., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Lakeshore Villas Convalescent Center in Tampa.
    Survivors include a son, Willie A. Williams of Tampa; a brother, Bill Hollingsworth of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Williams; sisters, Ethel Sanders and Carrie Perritt; and a brother, Jake Hollingsworth.
    Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
    ANNIE SPARROW JONES
    Retired nurse
    Services for Annie Sparrow Jones will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Malilleu United Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie R. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Barker Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Jones, 79, of Meridian, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at The Speciality Hospital of Meridian.
    Survivors include three daughters, Alma Cole and Amie Hodge, both of Meridian, and Leona Nealy-Clancy of San Bernadino, Calif.; two sons, John Hughes of Tulsa, Okla., and Ernest Hopson of Fontana, Calif.; two sisters, Louise Stapelton of Springfield, Ill. and Kate Jackson of Delhi, La.; 30 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Visitation will be today from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
    GUY LAWRENCE WALKER

    WAYNESBORO Services for Guy Lawrence Walker will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. DeJuan Walley officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery.
    Mr. Walker, 88, of Waynesboro, died, Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Wayne General Hospital. Mr. Walker was a charter member and deacon of Calvery Baptist Church. He had received the Paul Harris Rotarian Club award and was a member of Foye Giles Sunday class. He was a land surveyor for more than 50 years.
    Survivors include five sons, Jimmy Walker of Boston; John Walker of Winona; Thomas Walker, David Walker and Craig Walker, all of Waynesboro; two daughters, Ann Carol Covert of Gonzalis, Texas and Dorothy Kennedy of Pippas Passis, Ky.; a sister, Lucille Walker Bailey of Waynesboro; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Louise Walker, and a son, Victor Ronald Walker.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    TOMMY RAY COVINGTON
    Retired mechanic
    Services for Tommy Ray Covington will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Soseby officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery.
    Mr. Covington, 66, of Stonewall, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include three sons, Jody Covington and his wife, Freda, and Jason Covington and his wife, Dawn, both of Stonewall, and Ronnie Herrington and his wife, Robin, of Enterprise; a daughter, Angela Rascoe and her husband, Billy, of Stonewall; two sisters, Myra Spivey of Augusta, Ga., and Geraldine Pittman of Stonewall; six grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis, Allison Rascoe, Casey Herrington, Hannah Covington, Cayley Covington and Nathan Covington and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Covington, and sister, Vaudie Dunnam.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    O. RAY COMPTON
    Services for O. Ray Compton will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Owen officiating. Burial will be in Clarkdale Community Cemetery.
    Mr. Compton, 67, of Clarke County, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was retired.
    Visitation will be Saturday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Arrangements were incomplete at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home for Clifton Hare, 51, of Enterprise, who died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in his home.
