Rezoning clears way for 24 apartment units
RUSSELLVILLE — Councilmembers have approved a rezoning request that clears the way for construction of a 24-unit apartment complex near Guard Street and State Highway 43.
A public hearing last held last week on the proposal torezonetheproperty from M-2 Heavy Industrial to R-3 Multifamily.
City Building Inspector Bill Fuller said the development will include apartments like others recently constructed in the city.
The development, identified during the meeting as Garmin Apartments, is being developed by Will Lane and Sandra Lane of J.W. Lane Investors.
Officials said the property is located behind the former Cut Stone property, the Mill Village area and the National Guard Armory.
Mayor David Grissom said the development would be a positive addition to the city.
