Belgreen sweeps holiday slate
It was a productive holiday stretch for the Belgreen Bulldogs, who relied on veteran composure and elite free-throw shooting to secure two double-digit victories.

The Bulldogs set the tone early against the Wilson Warriors, sparked by a scoring outburst from Randi Terry. Terry accounted for 10 of her team-leading points in the opening frame, helping Belgreen build a 15–8 cushion.
While Wilson remained steady throughout the middle quarters, they had no answer for the Bulldogs’ ability to close at the charity stripe.
Makenna Fisher gave a masterclass in late-game execution, going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter (9-of-10 overall). Her 11 points, combined with Jemma Moore’s game-high 15, ensured the Bulldogs stayed in control until the final buzzer.

In its second outing, Belgreen faced a resilient Hackleburg squad. After a neck-and-neck first half that saw the teams separated by only six points, the Bulldogs blew the game open in the third quarter. Outscoring the Panthers 20–9 in that span, Belgreen established a lead that Hackleburg’s 17-point fourth-quarter rally couldn’t touch.
Fisher was dominant, finishing with 22 points and another strong 8-of-10 showing from the freethrow line. Marlie Terry (12 points) and Randi Terry (11 points) provided the secondary scoring punch needed to cruise to a 12-point victory.
In other tournament action, the Phil Campbell Bobcats fought through a high-scoring thriller but couldn’t quite overcome a second-quarter slump against Carbon Hill.

The matchup between Carbon Hill and Phil Campbell started as an offensive shootout with both teams dropping 19 points in a frantic first quarter. However, the game was decided in the second period, where Carbon Hill outscored the Bobcats 17–7.
Phil Campbell found its rhythm again in the third, led by Layla Baker’s 15 points and Addie Gilbert’s 10, but the scoring stalled for both teams in a defensive fourth quarter (6–6).
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed significant grit with balanced contributions from Leela Baker (8) and Georgia Motes (8).
