FC chooses new assistant county engineer

Russellville native Caleb Sherrill, a graduate of the Russellville High School Class of 2012, has been selected as Franklin County’s new assistant county engineer. His first day is set for Jiune 12. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2017 and started working with Civil Group, where he worked with current Franklin County engineer, Jason Baggett.

Sherrill’s wife, Lexie, a registered nurse, decided to work as a travel nurse in 2020, so he worked in travel engineering. Next, he worked for Glen County in Georgia and then the City of Cheyenne in Wyoming.  Currently, he works for Madison County Public Works and she works for Madison Surgery Center.

“I worked with Jason (Baggett) in the past, and we had a really good working relationship, so I’m looking forward to working with him again, as well as to getting to come back home,” Sherrill explained. “All of my family is in Franklin County, including my wife’s family, so I’m excited to get to come back home after a couple of years of traveling.”
