FBLA students earn honors at state

PHIL CAMPBELL — Members of the Phil Campbell High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter earned honors during the Alabama FBLA State Leadership Conference in Mobile.

FBLA Sponsor Taylor Godsey said the Phil Campbell chapter earned the Outstanding Level Award in Blueprint for Success.

“Their hard work paid off,” Godsey said. “To achieve an outstanding level, your chapter must go well beyond basic participation. It’s about consistently hitting high benchmarks across all areas of chapter activity.”

Godsesy said they also achieved the gold level of Champion Chapter.

“To earn gold level,” she said, “your chapter must earn the maximum or nearmaximum points across all sections, show balance in different categories, and be highly active all year, not just at conference time.”

They also received the Chapter of Distinction award. Godsey said this award consists of completing “several important tasks.”

Among the tasks, Godsey said, are the chapter donating $200 to the Alabama FBLA foundation, completing the outstanding level of the blueprint for success, and having at least six members compete at the state leadership conference. They also donated $500 to the March of Dimes.

Kayden Headlee won first place in job interview; Lola Mays earned second place in customer service; and Hudson Hutcheson placed fourth in careerportfolio. Sadie Hill finished as a Top 8 finalist in event planning.
