NW-SCC holds holiday concert

Northwest-Shoals Community College’s music department will hold a Christmas concert and show choir performance, A Christmas Celebration!, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. in the Lou B. Bevill Center on the NW-SCC Phil Campbell campus.

The concert will feature two of the college’s musical groups: the Northwest-Shoals Chorale directed by Gene Anne Gifford and the Northwest-Shoals Jazz Ensemble directed by George Crummie. In addition to performances by the traditional NW-SCC music groups, the College is partnering with the Ritz School for Performing Arts in Sheffield to offer a show choir performance by NW-SCC and area high school students. Choreography of the show choir will be directed by Dennis Clark.

Admission to the concert is free.

Chorale members from Franklin County are Austin Balding, Destiny Cooper and Rachel Griffen. Jazz Band members from Franklin County are Austin Balding and Zeke Lowery. Ritz students from Franklin County are Abbey Jones, Red Bay High School; Mckenzie Zahnd, Phil Campbell High School; and Katy White, Phil Campbell High School.
