Girard Industries breaks ground in Red Bay
Girard Industries and the City of Red Bay held the ground-breaking ceremony for the awning company Nov. 9.
Mayor Charlene Fancher said she was excited for the incoming business because of its “strong commitment to Tiffin Motorhomes, strong work ethic, high standards to produce quality product and desire to achieve.”
Tiffin Motorhomes uses Girard exclusively for awning needs in manufacturing motorhomes.
According to president and CEO Marcia Girard, her journey with Red Bay started two years ago, and her belief in Tiffin and the people of Red Bay cemented her decision to open the fifth Girard factory in Red Bay.
“It’s refreshing to share the same values in making customers happy,” Girard said.
City councilmember Brad Bolton and Fancher emphasized that the new industry locating in Red Bay would not have been possible without the efforts of the council from 2008 and 2012, which laid the groundwork for the construction of the industrial park.
“We are a progressive, pro-business and forward-looking municipality that encourages and is happy to assist with investments in our fine city,” Bolton said.
There are still approximately 40 acres available in the industrial park where other industries can set up shop, Bolton added.
