Inside this issue of the Franklin County Times, you will find the annual rendition of a publication we prize: Progress.
Progress is a chance for us to really showcase the assets of Franklin County. As our community grows and changes, there are many moving pieces that fit together, that work in tandem, to make this the place we call home. Every year, we zero in on a different aspect.
When it comes the foundation upon which our community is built, the driving force behind our progress, the very fabric of who we are as a people – we have to talk about families. That’s our focus in Progress 2018.
Around here, family is everything. Family runs deep. Many of our friends and neighbors are third, fourth, fifth generation Franklin County residents – or even further back. It’s a beautiful heritage that paints a picture of this truth: Franklin is family.
Within the pages of our annual Progress edition, we introduce 11 Franklin families. They are all featured because they represent what it means to be family – whether that’s enjoying Sunday dinners together, leaning on each other through the troubles of life or just knowing that no matter how busy things get, and how many different directions everyone is headed, family is always there to come home to.
Some of these families you will already know. Some of them might be new to you. They are all part of the Franklin family. Each one shows us how we as a community are a family too – how we are interwoven and connected. We think that’s a crucial part of what has made Franklin County what it is as well as what it will be in the future.
We hope you will take the time to flip through the pages of this year’s Progress edition and get to know these families – their traditions, their values, their family philosophies. It’s a publication we really poured into, to create something for you – our family – to enjoy and treasure.
