The Red Bay Tigers trailed their Mississippi rival Belmont 13-0 before rolling off 21 unanswered points to take the win and remain unbeaten in the 2016 season. The Tigers also extended their regular season unbeaten streak to 23 games and their road winning streak to 17 games.

Red Bay didn’t score until the second quarter, when Tate Ozbirn scored on an 11-yard run. Ozbirn also added the two-point conversion on a run to make the score 13-8 Belmont.

The Tigers regained the lead on a one-yard run by Kaleb Burroughs with 5:07 to go in the first half.

Red Bay came up with a big stop in the closing seconds of the first half to retain the lead.

The Tigers extended their lead over the Cardinals late in the third quarter when Burroughs broke free for a 37-yard touchdown run. After the PAT, Red Bay led 21-13. The Tiger defense was able to hold onto the lead in the fourth quarter.

Ozbirn led Red Bay with 128 yards on 25 carries. The Tigers rushed for 256 total yards on the night.

Red Bay will resume region play Friday night as the team hosts Lamar County for homecoming.
