City approves improvements to pool, tennis facilities
New paint, repaired cracks, new roof – it’s all incoming for Russellville Parks and Recreation pool and tennis facilities.
It was a big night for Parks and Rec March 7 at the Russellville City Council meeting. The council voted to repair the pool and tennis building roofs for $18,120; paint the pool and tennis court building exteriors (about $12K); repair cracks and resurface the tennis courts; and re-seal the pool deck.
“We’ve got nice facilities, but they have to be maintained,” Mayor David Grissom said.
In addition to facility maintenance, the council also approved for Parks and Rec the purchase of a new lawnmower.
The city also:
– declared a slide at the City Lake Park surplus
– promoted two to Firefighter II
– declared a vacancy for police dispatcher and hired from the Civil Service Board list
– accepted resignation from Patrol Officer Dustin Terry and declared the vacancy
– approved a claim for car damage from Timmy James
