Russellville’s golf teams competed against Muscle Shoals and Florence Monday at Cypress Golf Course, the Muscle Shoals home course, in a nine-hole match. The boys team was led by Eli Hodges, with a score of 38, and Joshua Seal, who also shot a 38, to second place, beating Florence but falling a few shots short of winning against Muscle Shoals.

The boys had a match prior to this one; the top five boys attended and played at a tournament in Mobile last week. Eli Hodges won the tournament, with scores of 74 and 71 throughout the two-day tournament, playing 18 holes. The boys team placed at 13 out of 21 teams.

In Monday’s match-up, the girls team also beat Florence and came up short against Muscle Shoals. Both teams landed in second at Monday’s match. The girls team was led by Josie Willis, who shot a 54.
