    Russellville 55, Phil Campbell 50

    Ten Lady Golden Tigers scored to help Russellville claim the win last Tuesday night against Phil Campbell.  Patricia Borden led the way for Russellville with a game-high 23 points.

    Phil Campbell jumped out to a 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and also outscored the Lady Golden Tigers in the fourth quarter 16-13, but Russellville controlled the middle of the game, and it was enough to claim the victory.

    “It was nice to play a team that was very physical and battle back and not just shut down and let them take it from us,” Russellville head coach Brooke Long said.  “It was nice to see our girls actually fight back in a very physical game.”

    Following Borden’s 23 points for Russellville was Carley Seal with eight points. Kallie Allen (6), Madison Murray (4), Aleshia Phillips (3), Madison Hargett (3), Tia Smith (2), Megan Brockway (2), Layne Boyd (2) and Tristin Thomas (2) also scored for the Lady Golden Tigers.

    Abby Davis had 16 points for the Lady Bobcats. She was followed by Leah Gunderman (10), Darby Elliot (8), Elizabeth Benford (6), Chloe Roberson (4), Dakota Elliot (4) and Carley Nix (2).

    Colbert County 50, Russellville 48

    The Lady Golden Tigers and Colbert County battled all the way down until the final seconds Thursday night in Russellville before the Lady Indians took advantage of a technical foul with only 1.4 seconds remaining in the game to grab the win.

    The score was tied at 48-48 when Russellville was hit with a technical, and Colbert County then made the two free-throws.

    Russellville’s Kallie Allen led the Lady Golden Tigers’ scoring attack with 20 points. She was followed by Madison Hargett (7), Patricia Borden (6), Megan Brockway (5), Madison Murray (4), Aleshia Phillips (4) and Carley Seal (2).

    Russellville 53, Tharptown 41

    The Lady Golden Tigers bounced back on Friday night and claimed a big win over the Tharptown Lady Wildcats.

    The Russellville defense was strong in holding Tharptown to seven points in the first quarter and eight in the second.

    Russellville was led in scoring by Kallie Allen’s 12 points. Aleshia Phillips also scored in double figures with 10. Patricia Borden (9), Madison Murray (8), Madison Hargett (7), Carley Seal (6) and Tia Smith (1) also scored for Russellville.

    Jessica Wilson led Tharptown with 11 points.  Kaitlyn Vandiver (10), Haley Malone (9), Erica Gray (3), Debbie Gomez (3), Klaudia Harris (3) and Linda Bahena (2) also scored for the Lady Wildcats.

    Russellville 60, Phillips 43

    Russellville’s Kallie Allen scored 29 points to lead the Lady Golden Tigers to victory Monday night in Bear Creek.

    Megan Brockway had 11 points for Russellville. Layne Boyd (8), Patricia Borden (6), Madison Murray (4) and Devin Jones (2) also scored for the Lady Golden Tigers.

    Russellville led at the end of the first quarter, 19-8, and carried a 28-23 lead into the half. It was the third quarter when the Lady Golden Tigers really took control by outscoring the Bears, 22-8.

    Boys

    Russellville 68, Phil Campbell 52

    The Russellville Golden Tigers used a strong second half performance to pull away for the win in front of a big home crowd Tuesday night.

    Joshua Seal led the way in the first half for the Golden Tiger,s while Adonnis Bailey took control for Russellville in the second half.

    The Bobcats trailed by only three points at the half before Russellville’s defense played tough in the second half to hold down the Phil Campbell scoring attack.

    “I thought tonight was just a good, complete win for our guys,” Russellville head coach Patrick Odom said.  “Because of foul trouble, we had to have a lot of guys play a lot of minutes.”

    Russellville’s Joshua Seal and Phil Campbell’s Hayden Copeland led all scorers in the game with 20 points each. Adonnis Bailey (18) and Avery Sears (10) both scored in double figures for Russellville. Devin Buckhalter (6), Austin Stidham (6), Taylor Vincent (5), Nate Franklin (2) and Kamar Baugh (1) also scored for the Golden Tigers.

    Phil Campbell’s Jacob Anthony had 12 points. Noah Williams (9), Peyton Thomas (4), Gage Roberson (4) and Joe Hardy (3) also scored for the Bobcats.

    Colbert County 59, Russellville 43

    The Colbert County Indians pulled away in the second half to claim the win Thursday night in Russellville.

    The Golden Tigers (8-12) and Indians went into the half tied at 28-28, but Russellville went cold in the second half on the offensive end. Colbert County outscored Russellville 13-7 in the third quarter and 18-8 in the fourth period.

    Adonnis Bailey (12) and Avery Sears (11) scored in double figures for Russellville.  Devin Buckhalter (8), Joshua Seal (6) and Austin Stidham (6) also scored for the Golden Tigers.

    Tharptown 66, Russellville 64

    The Wildcats completed the season sweep of the Russellville Golden Tigers with a thrilling win in a game that went down to the final seconds Friday night at Tharptown.

    The two teams were tied at 64-64 with 35 seconds remaining in the game when Blake Gray scored on a basket in the paint to put Tharptown ahead. Russellville had a shot to send the game to overtime or steal the win with a three at the buzzer but couldn’t convert.

    Joshua Seal had 21 points for Russellville. Avery Sears (11), Adonnis Bailey (10), Taylor Vincent (10), Austin Stidham (8), Nate Franklin (2) and Kamar Baugh (2) also scored for Russellville.

    Tharptown had three players score in double figures. Max Nolen led the way with 18 points. He was followed by Bailey Motes (17), Blake Gray (12), Mikey Rosson (7), Heath Hatton (6) and Nathan Chaney (6).

    Phillips 72, Russellville 64

    The Phillips Bears got 37 points from Jake Bonner Monday night in Bear Creek to lead the way in defeating the Russellville Golden Tigers.

    Devin Buckhalter led the way for Russellville (8-14) with 21 points. Joshua Seal (19) and Adonnis Bailey (10) scored in double figures for the Golden Tigers. They were followed by Austin Stidham (7), Lucas McNutt (5) and Taylor Vincent (2).
